Our APC solutions help our customers oxidize VOCs and odors, as well as remove particulate matter and acid gases from process gases to meet environmental regulations. Key air pollution control technologies offered to the ethanol market are regenerative thermal oxidizers, wet electrostatic precipitators, wet scrubbers, and heat recovery systems.
Environmental control technologies from Dürr Megtec are engineered specifically for the high particulate moisture-laden streams coming from DDGS (distillers dried grains with solubles) drying as well as the fermentation and centrate processes. The Oxi.X RC and Oxi.X RM RTOs are the most efficient, cost-effective and trouble-free VOC and odor removal systems available for the ethanol and biofuels industry.
Secondary heat recovery options are available and the recovered energy can be returned to the process or used to reduce other plant energy requirements.
We also control the quality and performance of all Dürr Megtec units. We pre-assemble and pre-test modular components in our factory, which provides significant savings of time and money during installation and start-up.
Dürr Megtec wet ESPs provide highly efficient control of submicron particulate upstream of an RTO for the wet mills, therefore significantly minimizing bake-out frequency and maintenance. To further control acid gas emissions after the dryers, we offer a range of wet scrubber designs such as plug-resistant open spray towers and the patented Turbotak™ atomizing scrubber.
