Thermal Processes

When volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) exist in a solvent-laden exhaust air stream, they can be collected for recovery and potential re-use or they must be destroyed. If the solvents have little or no recovery value or where there are concerns for disposal of toxic compounds, thermal oxidation and catalytic oxidation are the best options for VOC control, as well as odor control.

Dürr Megtec offers a range of regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO), regenerative catalytic oxidizer (RCO) and catalytic recuperative oxidizer (RCO) designs and configurations that provide the best solution for your application. Our oxidizers are designed for low- to high-volume airflow and deliver high thermal and destruction efficiencies for VOC abatement.

In many applications, the system will run in a self-sustaining mode, whereby no additional fuel is required to control volatile organic compounds.

We also accommodate customized application design needs, with extended residence times, gas scrubbers for off-gas clean-up, concentrators, and exotic materials of construction.
